ACTIVATED SLUDGE
The activated sludge plants are systems purification of biological suspended biomass extended aeration.
We define plants "organic" as the degradation of the organic substance and part of the suspended solids present in the slurry takes place by the action of bacteria that feeding of pollutants purify the wastewater.
The artificial ventilation of the wastewater ensures the proliferation of these bacteria form colonies in joining the "mud flakes" typical of suspended biomass.
The activated sludge plants are composed of two compartments: the oxidation and the sedimentation. In the first stage takes place oxidation of the wastewater: the sewage, in fact, is subjected to an intense treatment of artificial aeration and in an environment so rich in oxygen trigger the physical, chemical and especially that degrade the organic pollutant load.
High concentrations present in the microbial oxidation vanodi, responsible for purification of the wastewater, are guaranteed by the continuous recirculation of the activated sludge in the next compartment sedimentation.
In it by virtue of a state of rest, is the separation and precipitation of sludge that are then recirculated in the oxidation section.
The clarified and purified is sent to the next stage of treatmentcontemplated by the designer.
Only the sludge produced in excess of the needs of the purification process (excess sludge) must be periodically removed from the plant.
YIELDS
The plant is guaranteed, if properly installed and properly managed, the achievement of the limits provided for by Decree No. 152/06.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Proceed generally from one to four times a year to the extraction of excess sludge from the sedimentation.
Clean the area of deposit sludge ensuring that the communication holes in the sedimentation tank are not clogged.
Be sure to add the recommended doses of bacterial-enzymatic mix whenever you perform operations start up. The linear diaphragm pump must be installed in a well
ventilated and in general we must carefully follow the directions of the manuals for maintenance of electromechanical devices supplied with the product.
